Boating adventures out of Campbell River get simpler when the boat lives in dry storage and stays warm all winter. Dog – Gone – It, a 2000 Bayliner Ciera Express 2859, is a 28′ family express cruiser set up for coastal cruising and salmon fishing, powered by a Mercruiser gas package on an updated Bravo Three drive.
The owners have invested heavily: a new engine purchased in 2012 with only about 550 hours to date (perfect condition – does not burn a drop of oil), newly installed high-PSI and low-PSI fuel pumps, newer electronics / nav / radar (Raymarine C140 suite), a 2015 Mercury 15 hp kicker included with the sale, numerous wiring upgrades, a fully rewired electrical panel with upgraded plug-ins, a third battery and inverter under the driver’s seat, a new battery charger, a stainless steel freshwater tank (replaced the original galvanized), three windshield wipers, electric dual-ram trim tabs plus spare starter and alternator. She has also just had a major cleaning, wax, and polish before going back into storage.
Below, a V-berth and an aft double cabin, plus a convertible saloon, sleep the crew. The galley carries a two-burner Origo alcohol/electric cooktop, Norcold refrigeration, and hot/cold pressure water off a Seaward 6-gallon heater; the enclosed head has a manual Jabsco and a shower. Up in the wheelhouse, starboard helm seating faces the upgraded Raymarine C140 plotter/sounder and Raymarine radar, with a Standard Horizon Eclipse VHF and Danforth compass. Aft, the open cockpit opens to a swim grid, electric dual-ram trim tabs, twin Scotty downriggers, and a Sea-B-Que.
Power is a 2012 Mercruiser 420 hp gasoline V8 (~550 hours) on a Mercruiser Seacore Bravo 3 with stainless duo-props, backed by a 2015 Mercury 15 hp kicker included with the sale. Fuel capacity is about 102 gallons. She was surveyed on land at CR Storage Warehouse in Campbell River in March 2026 and found in good overall condition, with no antifouling on the bottom and no Priority I findings.
