Helmsman Trawlers 31x
The Helmsman Trawlers 31x is the newest and most compact model in the Helmsman line: a 32-foot expedition trawler for couples who want to cruise the BC coast without the size, moorage cost or crew of a larger boat.
Derived from the proven Camano hull, the 31x carries its single Yanmar 230 hp diesel low in a hollow keel for stability, with a robust skeg protecting the running gear. With 200 gallons of fuel and 100 gallons of fresh water on board, it has the reach for extended trips through the Gulf Islands, Desolation Sound and up the Inside Passage.
The salon and galley open onto a large cockpit with a full-length cover, and the helm has companion seating. The owner’s cabin has separate head and shower compartments, and a stainless steel ladder leads up to the boat deck.
Standard equipment is chosen for independent cruising: bow and stern thrusters, lithium (LiFePO4) house batteries with a Victron inverter/charger, three folding solar panels, and diesel cabin heating.
