My Happy Place

Spacious, well-kept express cruiser with twin MerCruiser 5.7L V8s

My Happy Place is a well-maintained and nicely equipped 1990 Wellcraft Monaco 3000 offering an impressive amount of space and comfort in a 30-foot hull. With her generous cockpit and spacious interior, large galley, plentiful storage, and twin freshwater-cooled MerCruiser 5.7L V8s, she is ideally suited to weekend cruising and coastal adventures.

This is a boat that has clearly benefitted from attentive ownership. The current owner has continued to invest in her, including over $7,000 of recent work completed at Gartside Marine. The vessel was surveyed out of the water in July 2026 and was found to be clean, tidy and in fair overall condition for her age, with no structural defects identified.

My Happy Place has just two owners. She was reportedly purchased new at a boat show in 1992, kept in a boathouse and hauled out over the winters. The current owner adores the boat and has had her for approximately two years.

At $24,900 CAD, My Happy Place offers an appealing opportunity to get into a well-equipped 30-foot-class express cruiser without spending a fortune.

Accommodations

The Monaco 3000 makes excellent use of her 30-foot hull. The interior is clean, bright and spacious, with a practical layout for extended weekends aboard.

The forward accommodation includes a comfortable berth and storage, while the salon provides additional seating and living space. Aft, the separate berth provides additional sleeping accommodation.

The galley is generously sized for a boat of this length and includes an Origo 2000 alcohol stove, microwave, Norcold AC/DC refrigerator and ample storage.

The enclosed head features a 12-volt saltwater marine toilet, 15-gallon holding tank and vanity.

Cockpit & Exterior

The large aft cockpit is well suited to entertaining, relaxing or enjoying meals underway. Full camper canvas provides additional weather protection and extends the usable living space.

A molded swim platform and starboard transom gate provide easy access to the water, while hydraulic trim tabs and stainless-steel three-blade propellers complement the twin sterndrive configuration.

Mechanical

Power comes from twin MerCruiser 5.7L V8 gasoline engines, reported at 260 hp each. Repowered engines have approximately 750 hours each.

Both engines are freshwater cooled and paired with MerCruiser Alpha One Gen II sterndrives.

The July 2026 survey was conducted with the vessel out of the water. No engine, fuel, exhaust or water leaks were observed during the survey. The survey was a visual inspection rather than a detailed mechanical inspection.

The current owner has recently invested over $7,000 in work at Gartside Marine, with maintenance and repair receipts available.

Survey

My Happy Place was surveyed out of the water on July 7, 2026.

The survey found:

  • No underwater hull damage observed
  • No osmosis blisters found
  • No fiberglass delamination or core separation identified in the hull
  • Acceptable moisture readings in the hull and transom
  • No structural defects observed in accessible bulkheads and stringers
  • Cabin sides showed no areas of core separation or softness
  • Vessel was clean and tidy
  • Maintenance considered satisfactory

Ownership & Care

My Happy Place is owned by only two families in its history. The previous owner purchased the new boat at a boat show in 1992, stored her in a boathouse and hauled her out each winter.

The current owner has continued that tradition of care and has recently invested over $7,000 in maintenance and repairs. The owner describes the engines as firing consistently every time.

She is now being offered for sale simply because the current owner does not have the time to use her as much as they’d like.

The Bottom Line

If you’re looking for a comfortable, spacious express cruiser without stepping into the price of a newer 30-plus-foot boat, My Happy Place deserves a look.

She combines a proven Wellcraft hull, twin V8 power, air conditioning, a generous interior and cockpit, and a good ownership and maintenance history. With her recent investment and July 2026 survey, she represents an attractive opportunity for someone looking for a capable coastal cruiser at a fraction of the cost of a newer boat.
