Calibre Yachts Sales Team

Richard Evans

Founding President - Nanaimo, BC

Office:250-716-2022 - EXT 105

In 2007, Richard dreamed of starting a yacht brokerage based on Trust and Integrity, with a passion to serve people living the fabulous boating lifestyle. In 2008, that dream evolved into reality, starting with Richard and his Sales Assistant, in one office.

By God’s grace, Calibre has grown to 5 offices on Coastal BC with 21 staff, including an executive team preparing for future growth. As one would expect, everyone on the Calibre team holds the same values as Richard.

Richard and the entire team are grateful for the loyalty their customers have shown Calibre. Without them, Calibre could not be where it is today, nor preparing for where it is going tomorrow.

If you have not experienced the Calibre difference, Richard welcomes you to try it and see for yourself. You will soon know why so many boaters insist that Calibre Yacht Sales is their brokerage of choice, when either buying or selling a boat.

Trina Holt

Yacht Broker - Maple Bay Marina, BC

Whether working, playing, or living on them, boats have been the focus of most of Trina’s adult life.  She’s worked aboard elegant cruise ships, a grungy research vessel, and with the Coast Guard. She’s instructed and certified boaters with their PCOC licence, been a working Divemaster, and wrote a commercial boating manual, and managed several marinas. She and her cat lived aboard a Cal 2-29 sailboat for seven years, and now she lives on a beautiful Island Packet 40 with her husband. Their plan is to go offshore sailing. Meanwhile, they enjoy the spectacular waters that is their own backyard.

Boating, however, is Trina’s number two passion. What matters to her most are relationships. She genuinely cares about and is interested in the people she meets. From her sailing club and the Bluewater Cruising Association to a writer’s group and a photography group, Trina is a strong volunteer in her community.  She spent ten months training and then volunteering as a citizen-counsellor. She holds an MSc in social psychology, and has professionally ghost- or co-written several memoirs, honing the skills necessary to listen and really hear what people say.

Given her interests and experiences, Trina is well-positioned to bring people together with boats. She has the kind of passion, trustworthiness, and integrity that one can expect from any of Calibre Yacht’s crew.

Bryan Boxall

Yacht Broker - Comox Valley/Campbell River

Born and raised in Manitoba, and growing up on the numerous shores of the Interlake, Bryan developed his lifelong love of the water, fishing, and boating at a very early age. While his career as a technical sales specialist in the semiconductor/electronics manufacturing industry took him to Alberta in the 90s, he continued to develop his love for the water by spending time on many of Alberta’s pristine streams and rivers, and spending many weekends and holidays on the lakes of the BC interior. All the while the allure of the coast was constantly pulling on him. Finally, purchasing property on Vancouver Island in 2015, Bryan succumbed to his strong desire to be a coastal citizen.

His love for the water has been growing into a new passion here on the west coast. The passion of being on or near the ocean and its countless adventures. Whether it’s walking the Discovery Harbour docks at Calibre Yacht Sales’ Campbell River office, showing a client’s boat to a potential buyer in Comox, or taking care of all the loose ends for buyers and sellers to close a boat deal, a big part of the enjoyment lies in seeing the happiness in his client’s eyes when they take possession of their new boat and embark on an amazing new chapter!

Travis Turner

Yacht Broker - Nanaimo, BC

Originally from Southern Ontario, Travis’ life changed for the good when he joined a childhood friend at their family’s yacht club for race night.  That sparked a curiosity that took him to the British Virgin Islands, where he was surrounded by stories of solo ocean crossings and round the world races, which then forged his initial curiosity into a lifelong obsession with all-things-water.

Returning home to Canada, Travis immediately headed down to the local yacht club on Sunday mornings to hitch a ride as crew on race days.  This in turn brought him to Vancouver Island to start a new life with the ocean on his doorstep.  An accomplished sailor, paddler, surfer, and diver, Travis’ passion is for the next adventure in, on, or below the water!

Travis has worked as a trusted and respected member of one of the largest marina organizations in Canada so he has first hand knowledge of the real-world aspects of vessel usage, maintenance, and security that are constantly faced by avid boaters on the West Coast.

He embodies both Trust and Integrity, and lives the Calibre Lifestyle – combining all three elements of Calibre’s core values.  He’s excited to join Team Calibre where he can harness his unbridled energy, empathy, practical marine knowledge, and exemplary computer wizardry skills, to help you find your next dream boat.

Bruce Grayson

Yacht Broker - Nanaimo, BC

Bruce has a passion for boats, and loves connecting people with them! He is a Canadian born in Australia, who started racing in sailing dinghies when he was 11. He has been on and around boats for most of his adult life. He recently bought his first power boat and in doing so opened the door to “the dark side”, as sailors put it.

Bruce will show you a boat that you’ll love and/or sell your boat to someone who’s looking for exactly what you have to sell. He’s going to take the stress out of buying and selling. That’s his job. Know that when you buy or sell a boat through Bruce and Calibre Yacht Sales Inc., you will be happy.

Nicholas Scruton

Yacht Broker - Victoria, BC

Nicholas, a native of Victoria, has embarked on a captivating nautical journey that spans the spectrum from the thrill of fast boats to the serene pace of a trawler. His love for the sea and maritime adventures is deeply rooted in his upbringing, passed down through generations.

While the adrenaline rush of fast boats initially defined his maritime experiences, Nicholas found a profound and lasting connection with the spacious comfort of a trawler. This slower-paced vessel has become his vessel of choice, particularly for those leisurely, extended trips to the idyllic Desolation Sound each summer—a tradition now firmly embedded as a cornerstone of his lifestyle.

Nicholas’s diverse journey on the sea, coupled with his professional background, has naturally led him to Caliber Yachts. Here, he extends his passion for service and relationship-building to provide clients with an unparalleled experience.
