In 2007, Richard dreamed of starting a yacht brokerage based on Trust and Integrity, with a passion to serve people living the fabulous boating lifestyle. In 2008, that dream evolved into reality, starting with Richard and his Sales Assistant, in one office.
By God’s grace, Calibre has grown to 5 offices on Coastal BC with 21 staff, including an executive team preparing for future growth. As one would expect, everyone on the Calibre team holds the same values as Richard.
Richard and the entire team are grateful for the loyalty their customers have shown Calibre. Without them, Calibre could not be where it is today, nor preparing for where it is going tomorrow.

While the adrenaline rush of fast boats initially defined his maritime experiences, Nicholas found a profound and lasting connection with the spacious comfort of a trawler. This slower-paced vessel has become his vessel of choice, particularly for those leisurely, extended trips to the idyllic Desolation Sound each summer—a tradition now firmly embedded as a cornerstone of his lifestyle.

Jeff was born and raised on the North Shore and now splits his time between his home on Savary Island, the gateway to Desolation Sound and his other home in North Vancouver. Jeff has a corporate executive background in one of the biggest and most respected companies in BC, with responsibilities that included research and development, customer satisfaction measurement and sales and marketing. Tony Roberts, CA(SA), MBA

Tony has logged over 40,000 miles on high-speed power vessels as a Transport Canada Commercial Skipper and over 30,000 miles offshore on sailing vessels. He retired early as Aqua-Lung Canada’s Financial Controller, and has also held executive positions with large multi-national corporations. In 2012 he skippered a Beneteau 50’ with a crew of 7 in the Vic Maui yacht race, and during the summer of 2018 he participated in the Pacific Cup International Yacht Race from San Francisco to Hawaii. He recently returned to Victoria from a 14,000 mile multi-year South Pacific sailing odyssey with Karin, his wife and absolute best mate.
Tony is a certified CRYA Power and Sail Instructor and an Offshore Yachtmaster. He has been active on the water for over 60 years and has designed, built and rebuilt several substantial and successful vessels. As past Vice-Commodore of the Bluewater Sailing Association, Tony continues to volunteer; he truly enjoys interacting with people and loves encouraging, educating, and mentoring mariners to mobilize their dreams.
His family crest bears the motto: “Integrity Before All Else” and so it’s no wonder that he truly believes Calibre Yachts (“Trust, Integrity, Lifestyle”) is the best place to be!
Dan Geneau

Born and raised in the Comox Valley, Dan graduated from Vanier Senior High before moving to Victoria to attend Camosun College. After meeting his wife Lori of 37 years, Dan and Lori moved to Calgary to raise their two children. Dan has had a very successful 27 years in real estate and is a major award winner of the ReMax Chairmans Club Award, Hall of Fame Award as well as the Lifetime Achievement award. His success is built through exceptional customer service, trust and hard work. Dan’s dedication, easy accessibility and customer satisfaction are the key attributes.
Dan and his family have lived in beautiful Campbell River for four years now and his passion for boating gets bigger and bigger every year. Dan keeps his boat in the Discovery Marina and if his 22’ Kingfisher H.HT. isn’t in the box, he can be found fishing or exploring the incredible waters of Desolation Sound Bute Inlet and surrounding areas.

Brian is a proud member of the Calibre Yacht Sales team. He was raised on the North Shore, and is intimately familiar with the local waters, marinas, and boat culture of the South Coast.
With over 25 years of sales experience, Brian was drawn to Calibre by both his love of boats and by Calibre Yacht Sales’ solid reputation as a brokerage. Brian firmly believes that integrity and knowledge go hand-in-hand when serving clients, meeting their needs, and exceeding their expectations.
A boat owner his entire life, Brian has spent countless hours on vessels of all types and sizes. He has also worked as a commercial fisherman on the west coast of Vancouver Island and as a sport fishing guide around Vancouver and Howe Sound.
In his spare time, Brian enjoys cruising, fishing and exploring the magnificent West Coast with his wife and son aboard their 35’ Tiara. He’s also an avid skier, hockey player and cook.

Originally from Southern Ontario, Travis’ life changed for the good when he joined a childhood friend at their family’s yacht club for race night. That sparked a curiosity that took him to the British Virgin Islands, where he was surrounded by stories of solo ocean crossings and round the world races, which then forged his initial curiosity into a lifelong obsession with all-things-water.
Returning home to Canada, Travis immediately headed down to the local yacht club on Sunday mornings to hitch a ride as crew on race days. This in turn brought him to Vancouver Island to start a new life with the ocean on his doorstep. An accomplished sailor, paddler, surfer, and diver, Travis’ passion is for the next adventure in, on, or below the water!
Travis has worked as a trusted and respected member of one of the largest marina organizations in Canada so he has first hand knowledge of the real-world aspects of vessel usage, maintenance, and security that are constantly faced by avid boaters on the West Coast.
He embodies both Trust and Integrity, and lives the Calibre Lifestyle – combining all three elements of Calibre’s core values. As a young man living in the British Virgin Islands, Steven’s journey into the maritime world began as a dive instructor, immersed in the vibrant marine life of the Caribbean. It was here that he first tasted the allure of luxury yachting, a lifestyle that would become his passion and profession.
Transitioning from dive instructor to the yachting industry was a natural evolution. Summers found him navigating the azure waters of the South of France, while winters beckoned him back to the sun-kissed shores of the Caribbean. These experiences shaped his skills as a mariner and deepened his love for the sea.

During his 25-year tenure as President of Aqua Lung Canada, John also successfully transitioned the company into a highly respected supplier in the outdoor and sporting goods market.
Kristine Schenkey

Kristine grew up in Southern Alberta and although she enjoyed her prairie upbringing, she longed to be closer to sand and sea. While vacationing on Vancouver Island, she discovered a love for boating through her father-in-law’s 38′ sailboat and it was then that she and her husband decided they needed to make the move to Nanaimo. Since 2010, Kristine and her family have taken advantage of the Island lifestyle, enjoying beaching, boating, adventuring and hiking with their two dogs, Gus and Eddie. They couldn’t imagine living anywhere else in the world.
Kristine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and has had a very successful career as a mortgage broker, and more recently, managing a global corporate office. She has been awarded several times for her strong business acumen, sales excellence and creating “Best Practice” processes and initiatives. Her extensive professional experience and qualifications, coupled with her positive and collaborative attitude, make her a valuable addition to the Calibre team.
