Twin Cummins Diesels | Two Staterooms | Two Heads | $148,500 CAD

A proven Sea Ray design, desirable Cummins diesel power and significant recent mechanical attention make SAVANNAH well worth a look.

The Sea Ray 400 Sedan Bridge became one of Sea Ray’s more popular cruising designs for good reason. It offers an excellent combination of interior volume, comfortable accommodations, entertaining space and performance in a manageable 40-foot yacht.

SAVANNAH is powered by twin Cummins 6CTA/C8.3 430 HP diesels with direct-drive Twin Disc transmissions. With approximately 1,300 hours, these engines provide the diesel power and cruising capability many buyers specifically look for in a Sea Ray of this size.

AN IMPORTANT PART OF SAVANNAH’S STORY

After a previous buyer’s mechanical survey identified a number of issues requiring attention, the owners withdrew SAVANNAH from the market and undertook a substantial program of mechanical service and repairs before relaunching her for sale.

Considerable attention has since been directed toward the machinery and supporting systems, including the engine cooling systems, fuel filtration, batteries and charging, engine and transmission fluids and filters, engine anodes, instrumentation, controls, shaft seals and generator systems.

For a buyer considering a 1999 diesel yacht, we believe that history is important. The previous inspection brought areas requiring attention to the surface and gave the owners the opportunity to address them before bringing SAVANNAH back to market.

She is now being relaunched at $148,500 CAD.

Assumable Moorage

The moorage at Ladysmith Marina is convenient, especially with its proximity to amenities and the quick access to Nanaimo International Airport, making it easy for you and your guests to travel to and from the boat.

And a 50-foot slip provides ample space for your current boat while also offering flexibility if you decide to upgrade to a larger vessel in the future.

A great spot to dock your boat, with both convenience and future expansion possibilities in mind.

Two Staterooms - Two Heads

Step below and it quickly becomes apparent why the 400 Sedan Bridge works so well as a family cruising yacht.

The forward owner’s stateroom features a pedestal queen berth, cedar-lined hanging lockers, generous storage and an overhead hatch providing natural light and ventilation.

The owner’s ensuite head features a VacuFlush toilet and a separate enclosed shower.

The guest stateroom provides two individual berths and storage, giving family or guests their own comfortable private space.

A second full head is a significant advantage when cruising with another couple, family or friends.

Salon & Raised Dinette

The main living area aboard SAVANNAH is bright, spacious and particularly well suited to cruising with family and friends.

The salon features comfortable Ultraleather seating, large windows providing plenty of natural light, and the high-gloss cherry joinery that gives the 400 Sedan Bridge its warm, upscale interior.

Importantly, dining is separate from the salon. A dedicated raised dinette provides a comfortable place for meals, allowing the salon to remain a true relaxation and entertaining area rather than having to serve double duty.

The raised position of the dinette also takes advantage of the surrounding windows, providing excellent views while enjoying breakfast at anchor or dinner at the end of the day.

The salon sofa converts electrically to provide additional sleeping accommodation when required.

Combined with the separate galley-down arrangement, the 400 Sedan Bridge offers clearly defined spaces for relaxing, dining and meal preparation—one of the features that makes this layout work so well for extended cruising.

Galley

The galley-down arrangement keeps food preparation separate from the main salon while remaining open and connected to the living area.

Equipment includes:

  • Three-burner propane stove with oven.
  • Propane bottle secured in a dedicated vented transom locker
  • Norcold dual-voltage upright refrigerator
  • Sharp 110V microwave
  • Hot and cold pressure water
  • 8-gallon hot-water tank
  • Central vacuum

The propane stove and oven are particularly practical when cruising or at anchor because meals can be prepared without operating the generator. The propane bottle is securely installed in a vented transom locker, keeping it outside the vessel’s interior accommodation spaces.

The boat remains wired for the original electric stove should a future owner prefer that arrangement.

Flybridge

The flybridge is one of the highlights of the Sea Ray 400 Sedan Bridge.

Access is by wide molded steps rather than a vertical ladder, making movement between the cockpit and bridge considerably easier.

Once upstairs, excellent visibility from the helm is complemented by substantial seating for family and guests.

The bridge includes:

  • Three helm seats
  • Wraparound lounge seating
  • Removable dining table
  • Convertible sun-pad arrangement
  • Excellent storage
  • Full canvas and clear enclosure

The enclosure makes the bridge a genuinely useful living and operating area throughout much of the Pacific Northwest cruising season.

Heating & Air Conditioning

Twin Cruisair SMX reverse-cycle heating and air-conditioning systems provide year-round interior comfort.

Whether extending the cruising season during the cooler Pacific Northwest months or enjoying the boat during summer, having both heat and air conditioning adds considerably to the comfort aboard SAVANNAH.

Twin Cummins Diesel Power

The Cummins-powered version of the Sea Ray 400 Sedan Bridge is particularly desirable for buyers looking for a capable coastal cruising yacht.

SAVANNAH is equipped with:

  • Twin Cummins 6CTA/C8.3 diesels
  • 430 HP each
  • Approximately 1,300 hours
  • Direct-drive propulsion
  • Twin Disc hydraulic transmissions
  • Racor fuel filtration
  • Glendinning engine synchronizers
  • Reverso oil-change system
  • Westerbeke 8 kW diesel generator
  • 350 US gallon fuel capacity

The combination gives SAVANNAH the performance to cover meaningful distances while retaining the solid and substantial feel for which this Sea Ray design is known.

Navigation & Electronics

Navigation equipment includes:

  • Raytheon GPS/chartplotter
  • Raytheon radar
  • Autopilot
  • Icom M424 VHF

The elevated bridge helm provides excellent visibility when docking, cruising through confined waterways or navigating the coastal waters of the Pacific Northwest.

Electrical

Onboard electrical equipment includes:

  • Westerbeke 8 kW diesel generator
  • Marine inverter
  • New battery banks (2026)
  • New battery charging system (2026)
  • Shore power
  • LED interior lighting

The generator provides ample power for the vessel’s domestic equipment when away from shore power.

Cockpit & Swim Platform

The open cockpit provides a generous outdoor area for relaxing, entertaining and handling lines. A full canvas enclosure can provide additional weather protection when desired.

The transom door leads directly onto the large integrated swim platform, providing convenient access for swimming, boarding from the dock or accessing a tender.

NOTE: The previous dinghy davit system has been removed from the swim platform. The former mounting holes have been sealed and made watertight; however, the areas still require the attention of a professional fiberglass technician to properly finish and restore the surface. This work has been taken into consideration in the asking price.

Why Savannah Deserves A Look

There are many older cruising yachts on the market where a prospective buyer has little idea what a survey may uncover.

SAVANNAH has already been through that process.

A previous buyer’s mechanical survey identified areas requiring attention. The owners responded by taking the boat off the market and undertaking a substantial program of mechanical service and repairs before offering her for sale again.

That history, combined with twin 430 HP Cummins diesels, approximately 1,300 hours, two private staterooms, two heads, a separate raised dinette, diesel generator, heating and air conditioning, a spacious enclosed flybridge and one of Sea Ray’s most successful sedan-bridge layouts, makes SAVANNAH an interesting opportunity in today’s market.

At $148,500 CAD, she offers a considerable amount of Cummins-powered cruising yacht for the money.

If you have been looking for a comfortable diesel-powered family cruiser for exploring the Gulf Islands, Desolation Sound and the Pacific Northwest, SAVANNAH deserves to be on your list.
