Kelrido Mist

Like many desirable west coast trawlers, the Gulf Commander was designed by Ed Monk Sr. for extended cruising on the west coast. The Kelrido Mist is in beautiful condition and ready to leave the docks for a cruise around the Gulf Islands, Desolation Sound or up to the Broughton Archipelago. Built by Ennos Custom Boats in Richmond BC, the fiberglass hull is strong and capable. The layout is exceptional for entertaining family and friends and designed for a couple wanting to go on extended cruises.

The generous accommodations are divided into multiple functional areas. The salon on the main deck level offers a large couch, dinning table as well as full galley.  Forward there is a head to starboard and a large pilot house which is comfortable for those longer days at sea. With all instrumentation close at hand, including side deck cameras to make docking easier, the helm station is an ideal place for the captain and crew to be in any weather.  From the pilot house you can access the sleeping quarters forward down to the guest bunk room to port, the large owner’s cabin at the bow and head with separate shower stall to starboard.

The command bridge and sundeck can be accessed through the cockpit in the stern, or a ladder in the forward pilot house. The large command bridge is well appointed with a centre helm station. The helm has full engine instrumentation, controls, and captain’s chair. The command bridge is fully enclosed with canvas on 1″ stainless steel framing and has plenty of additional seating for crew and guests.

The sun deck has an Ego Paris modular patio set for entertaining and simply lounging in style and comfort.  The unique seating also includes the functional Quattro table, providing both a dining table and coffee height tables in four independent stations. The port side has a large fiberglass seat/stowage box, BBQ and life raft.

The stern cockpit has a partial overhang extending from the sun deck with full canvas extending over the cockpit on all sides. The cockpit bulkhead has a sliding patio style door to the salon and teak ladder on the port side leading to the sun deck. The cockpit has three access doors port, starboard and through the transom onto the swim grid. The swim grid and transom gunwale supports the “Sea Wise” davit for the tender and telescopic boarding ladder.

The twin Cummins diesels are strong, dependable and well balanced. They are kept in good working order in an immaculate engine room. The engine room can be accessed through the cockpit as well as pilot house and is well lit with plenty of room for routine maintenance.

All in all, this is a beautifully maintained vessel that is ready to take its new owners around some of the best cruising grounds in the world.
