The Jason 35 is featured in the book “Best Boats to Build or Buy” by Ferenc Mate, and was designed by Ted Brewer for experienced owners who wanted a seaworthy, fast, maneuverable blue water cruiser. As a result, this vessel has many features that make it safer at sea, easier to handle and more comfortable.
Key features include a small cockpit well, permanent boom gallows, running backstays, cutter rig, exceptionally large saloon, and ample stowage space throughout.
Five dorade vents plus fore hatch, skylight and eight opening ports will keep the interior liveable even in the tropics. A small cabin heater is fitted to provide comfort in the Pacific Northwest.
The accommodations are laid out for a couple with occasional guests and there is ample width in the saloon. The galley is quite complete and the chart table is extra large to provide an excellent working space for any mariner.
Auxiliary power is by a 39 hp Yanmar, and the 70 gallon fuel tank is fitted for extended cruising.
Many Jason’s are sailing the waters today and have poked their bows into anchorages all around the globe. Swallow was quality built at Miller Marine on Bainbridge Island in 1976 and launched in 1980, and has been to Mexico, Hawaii, and Alaska. She is a safe, comfortable, and very sturdy boat with an easy motion in any seas.
