The Catalina 30 is one of the most popular cruising sailboats on the planet for good reason. They offer incredible value and this one is no exception. With assumable moorage in Nanaimo, you have a great base to start your adventure.
This is a roomy sailboat for its size that has a sleeping capacity of 7. Forced air diesel heat, solar charging, hot and cold pressure water, electric windlass, reliable Universal Diesel, and plenty of upgrades make for a complete package that is ready to take you cruising.
This version of the 30 has a huge companionway hatch allowing for a bright and well-ventilated interior underway. It’s no surprise that the design remained unchanged for 25 years. They sail well, are safe and it has all you need for cruising in BC.

Catalina’s built their reputation on comfortable accommodations.
Starting in the bow there is a large split V-berth with storage below. Just aft is an adequate-sized head with a shower and a hanging locker to port with additional storage. The main salon has a dinette that converts to a double berth. The table folds up and mounts to the wall when you want some extra space. On the starboard side, there is a settee that can be used as a single berth and finally, there is another large double berth under the cockpit in the aft of the boat.
Simple and functional galley with all the basic amenities for cruising the coast.
The Catalina 30 has a large cockpit and a comfortable steering station.
Basic systems with little draw on the batteries for longer periods of quiet cruising.
Tall rig to take advantage of the light airs of BC
We designed the Catalina 30 to be big and comfortable.
She is designed for comfort as well as performance. The large and efficient self-bailing cockpit reflects this concept. The Catalina 30 cabin length, height, depth and especially the width permit amazingly spacious, luxurious accommodation.
She boasts a long waterline combining a wide beam and plenty of ballast so she’ll stand up to her sail. There are berths for seven, including the unique large aft double berth. Forward is a comfortable double cabin, with shelves and a large overhead hatch. Just aft is a generously proportioned head area with molded in shower pan.
The aft galley is easy and fun to use with a top-loading ice box and large double sinks. It’s out of the traffic yet open and handy. The navigation station is like those found on much larger yachts, providing storage for charts and navigation equipment.
Storage space aboard the Catalina 30 is abundant and well-planned. All shelves in both cabins have teak pin rails to keep things in place. Forward, opposite the head is a generous hanging locker and chest of drawers. Beneath all seats and berths are easily accessible compartments for larger gear and supplies.
For many, the ownership of the Catalina 30 represents the culmination of a dream to possess a comfortable, able, blue water cruising yacht.
Others appreciate the Catalina 30’s proven race-winning capability and outstanding performance.
However, if you intend to use your Catalina you can be confident she was built by those who understand the demands of the sea.
Catalina also understands your desire for a high-quality yacht that represents a sound investment.
The Catalina 30 is built with a spirit of craftsmanship that excels in the days when master boatbuilders built their vessels by hand. Our craftsmen construct the hulls and decks from alternating layers of matt, cloth and roving fibreglass. We use the finest materials available today to build our boats. We mould the gel coats and colors directly into the hull and deck. This makes the finish virtually maintenance-free. The keel concept is straightforward. We securely bolt and glass external lead ballast directly to the hull. Then we fair it carefully into the underbody for optimum performance. To suit your individual requirement, we offer the option of gasoline or diesel engines.
