Anthea

“Alubat” a blue water sailboat is one of the most known and most sailed aluminum yachts in the world designed by architect Philippe Briand – the name Alubat derives from “Aluminum” and  “Bateau” – boats of Aluminum.

Welcome on board Anthea – 1999 Alubat OVNI 455

Some have referred to this vessel as the Land Rover of the seas with good reason. She is strong, with up to 10 mm of sheet aluminum in her hull, an outstanding performer, (we hit 8.5 kn of hull speed in 18 kn of wind) and is luxuriously comfortable. Just check out the pictures to see what we mean.

But one of her most unique features, is the flat bottom with her hydraulically operated retractable centre board, taking her draft from over 7 feet down to 3.  And in countries where finding a marine lift is difficult, simply beach her (she sits upright on her bottom) and let the tide go out.

Anthea, an exciting, powerful, luxurious very capable, long distance, liveaboard cruiser. Her aluminum hull makes her robust, if not bullet proof, and the ability to beach the boat is a rare bonus. She is in very good condition and has been with one owner for her entire sea life.

Anthea has proven her metal, been 2/3rds around the world and ready to do the final leg with her new owners.

Check out full details to follow, then the video walk through and drone footage, then call us to get on this spectacular vessel. You will be glad that you did.
